Our History

Spirit Renewal Ministries (SRM), founded in 2006 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. SRM is a non-denominational ministry serving communities of faith and individuals in Canada and abroad.  SRM has provided services to churches, worshiping communities, pastors, and church leaders in Canada, USA, Curaçao, India, and East Africa.

The ministry began its services in Toronto in 2006, offering weekly worship services, and pastoral ministry services to the unchurched. Since then, the ministry has moved to Kingston, ON, and serves throughout southern Ontario. SRM continues to serve in the USA, Canada, Kenya, Uganda, and Curaçao.

Today, SRM, through partners, pastors, and volunteers, serves as the hands and feet of Christ by preaching, teaching, encouraging, feeding, comforting, counselling, and caring for thousands of people at home and abroad. We also counsel the bereaved, provide marriage services, pray for the sick, feed the hungry, offer respite from the cold, and encourage people to form communities of care in all we do.  Learn more

Our Purpose

The ultimate purpose of our ministry is to bring you the Good News of the kingdom of God made known through the life and witness of Jesus Christ.  Our prayer is that through this ministry, your life will be transformed in a powerful way, and that you will experience salvation in God through the knowledge of Christ. We understand that compassion and love are at the heart of the gospel message and ministry.  (Isaiah 63:15).  We believe that ministry must be contextual and it must speak to your deepest needs.  It must be relevant and real.  We share God’s Word for today and today’s people.  (Mark 2:21-22)  We also understand that the power of evil is present in this world (look at all of the war, abuse, crime and hurt in this world), yet we know that God’s power of love is greater than this.  We seek ways to bring hope and relief to a broken and hurting world.  (Rom. 5:5).  We serve the poor and marginalized in many areas of the world.

A very important component of SRM's ministry is undertaking the great commission, "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28: 19-20.

SRM has undertaken numerous international mission trips one to India, the USA, the island nation of Curaçao, Kenya and Uganda. SRM provides services to churches to help pastors and leaders grow in their capacity and competence to serve as ministers in the world-wide church of Christ. We invite leaders from all denominations to participate. Areas of teaching include: church growth and renewal, discipleship, evangelism, worship leadership, Biblical scholarship, church dynamics, theology of ministry, and conflict management.

What We Believe

We Believe in the Power of:

The Gospel

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ; it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who has faith, to the Jew first and also to the Greek (Romans: 1:16).

The Holy Spirit

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit (Romans 15:13).

‘My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness.’ So, I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me (2 Cor. 12:9).

‘Whatever you ask for in prayer with faith, you will receive’ (Matthew 21:22).

One day, while he was teaching, Pharisees and teachers of the law were sitting nearby (they had come from every village of Galilee and Judea and from Jerusalem); and the power of the Lord was with him to heal (Luke 5:17).

Jesus turned, and seeing her he said, ‘Take heart, daughter; your faith has made you well.’ And instantly the woman was made well. (Matthew 9:22).

He saved us, not because of any works of righteousness that we had done, but according to his mercy, through the water of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit (Titus 3:5).

The Resurrection

With great power the apostles gave their testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all (Acts: 4:33).
